NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The University of Notre Dame men's basketball team with its perfect score matches the highest graduation rate of any of the 68 teams in the 2012 NCAA Men's Basketball Championships bracket, based on the latest NCAA Graduation Success Rate figures.

The most recent GSR figures, released in October 2011, showed the Notre Dame men's team with a 100 score. Among programs that received NCAA invitations Sunday night, the Irish join Belmont, BYU, Creighton, Davidson, Duke, Harvard and Western Kentucky as programs that posted 100 GSR scores.

Those figures are part of an annual study issued Monday by the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sports (TIDES) at the University of Central Florida. It provides the most comprehensive analysis of the academic performance of student-athletes participating in the 2012 NCAA Men's Basketball Championships. Dr. Richard Lapchick, director of TIDES and chair of the DeVos Sport Business Management Graduate Program at Central Florida, served as primary author of the study.

The study also showed Notre Dame with a 99 GSR score for all its student-athletes--ranking Notre Dame number one in that category among all 68 teams in the NCAA Men's Championships. Harvard rated second at 98, followed by Davidson and Duke at 97 each.
