  • Led the Irish in yards per carry (5.9), rushing yards (933), rushing yards per game (77.8), carries (158) and ranked second in rushing TDs (5)
  • Fumbled just once in 179 touches (158 carries and 21 receptions)
  • First running back in school history that totaled at least 800 yards on the ground in each of his first two seasons
  • Averaged 103.4 rush yards/game and 7.5 yards/rush over the final five games of the season
  • Only three running backs in school history have rushed for more yards over their first two years in an Irish uniform (Allen Pinkett, 2,037; Darius Walker, 1,982; Autry Denson, 1,941)
  • Rushed for 100 or more yards on four different occasions (Nevada, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and USC), including each of the last two contests of the year
  • 52 of his 158 carries went for a first down or touchdown

  • Led the Irish in yards per carry (7.1), ranked second in rushing yards (835) and rushing yards per game (68.2), and ranked third in carries (117) and rushing TDs (6)
  • His 835 rushing yards are the most by an Irish freshman in school history (bested previous record held by Darius Walker, 786, in 2004)
  • Rushed for 100 or more yards in three of the team's last five games
  • Equaled school freshman record with four 100-yard rushing games (UMass, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest and Stanford)
  • Holds three of the top five and four of the top nine single-game rushing performances in school history by a freshman, highlighted by his freshman school-record 168 yards at Stanford (Nov. 28)
  • Set a Notre Dame record, and tied the NCAA freshman record, with a 98-yard TD run against Wake Forest (Nov. 14)
  • The 98-yard TD run was the longest play from scrimmage in the nation
  • Although did not meet the minimum of 10 carries per game (just 13 carries short) to be included in the NCAA leaders, his 7.14 yards per carry average would have ranked fourth in the nation
  • 32 of his 117 carries went for a first down or touchdown
  • Averaged 7.5 yards per carry on first down
  • Recorded 22 rushes of at least 10 yards and eight carries of at least 20 yards
  • Three TD runs of at least 60 yards and two TD runs of at least 70 yards
  • Scored a pair of TDs in his collegiate debut (Texas), including a TD on his first ever carry
  • Rushed for 168 yards on 18 carries at Stanford (Nov. 28), highlighted by a 62-yard TD run
  • The 168-yard effort bested the school freshman single-game record
