    A Season in Photos: Notre Dame Football

    The Fighting Irish finished the regular season undefeated and No. 1 for the first time since 1988.

    2012 (Fifth Year): Started all 13 games as an offensive guard ... performed at center as well throughout his career ... part of an offensive line that helped the Irish average over 200 yards per game in both rushing and receiving in the regular season ... only two previous Irish teams ever achieved the 200-200 in both categories (1977, 1970) ... helped Notre Dame average 5.0 yards per rush in the regular season - the highest per carry average for the Irish since 1996 (5.2) ... only two offensive lines from a Bowl Championship Series conference, including Notre Dame, averaged at least 200 yards on the ground, 200 yards in the air and yielded 16 sacks or less in the regular season ... helped Irish run for at least 200 yards seven times in 2012, including six of the last nine contests ... Notre Dame has not posted more 200+ yard rushing games in a single season since 1996 when the Irish registered nine games with at least 200 yards rushing ... over last nine games, Notre Dame has combined to rush for 1,901 yards (359 attempts) for 5.3 yards per carry and 14 rushing TDs.


    2010 (JUNIOR): Saw action in 12 games (did not play against Purdue) as a reserve offensive lineman ... the Irish offensive line allowed 20 sacks over its 13 games in 2010, which averaged 1.54 sacks per game ... Notre Dame had not allowed fewer sacks per game since 1998 when the Irish allowed only nine sacks in 11 games or 0.82 per game ... totaled 25 snaps on offense.

    2009 (SOPHOMORE): Played in three games for Irish (Nevada, Boston College and Navy), seeing playing time as backup center ... earned 7:13 of playing time and made three appearances on special teams.


    2008 (FRESHMAN): Did not see any game action.

    HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA: Chosen to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio ... named to the Connecticut High School Coaches Association Class S all-state team as a junior and senior ... served as anchor of the offensive line on a team that averaged 23.7 points per game as a senior ... led Northwest Catholic to an 8-1 league record and 8-3 overall record in final season ... won the Nutmeg Conference championship for the second year in a row ... ranked by Rivals.com as the eighth-best center in the nation and the fourth-best player in Connecticut ... rated the sixth-best prospect in Connecticut and the 30th-best guard in the nation by Scout.com ... helped lead the Indians to 10-0 record in league play and a 10-1 record as a junior ... was a member of the National Honor Society ... father, Mike, and uncles, Bob and Greg, all played at Notre Dame ...
