AS A JUNIOR: Irish backup at fullback in 2000 . . . played in nine games overall, including 2001 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl vs. Oregon State . . . caught six-yard touchdown pass from Gary Godsey midway through first quarter vs. Michigan State to give Irish 7-0 lead, marking his first career TD and first career reception . . . played most of game vs. Stanford, filling in for injured Tom Lopienski . . . had first carry of the season and also caught a six-yard pass vs. Cardinal . . . made first career start vs. Air Force . . . suffered hamstring injury vs. Boston College, causing him to miss Rutgers game . . . rebounded to start vs. USC.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Did not play in a game in '99 . . . shoulder injury required Sept. 17 surgery that finished him for the season.

AS A FRESHMAN: Played in each of last nine games in '98 as reserve Irish fullback, including vs. Georgia Tech in '99 Gator Bowl . . . made 41 regular-season appearances with Irish special teams, then six more in Gator Bowl . . . saw action at fullback vs. Stanford, Arizona State, Baylor and Navy . . . had two carries for eight yards vs. Arizona State and two for seven vs. Navy . . . did not see varsity action as rookie fullback in '97.

HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA: USA Today honorable mention All-America pick . . . rushed for 1,692 yards and 20 TDs on 202 carries as senior in '96 on 12-1 team at Belle Vernon High School in Belle Vernon, Pa. . . . helped team to Pennsylvania Class 3A state title in '95 while carrying 220 times for 2,035 yards and 19 TDs . . . began sophomore season as offensive guard, didn't start as tailback until fifth game but still finished with 1,020 rushing yards in '94 . . . ran for 280 yards in fourth game of '96, shaking off preseason hamstring injury, and had another game of 286 yards and four TDs on 21 attempts . . . finished with nearly 5,000 career rushing yards . . . played offensive line in junior high . . . ran 58 yards for a TD the first time he touched the ball in a Belle Vernon uniform and he did the same the last time he touched it . . . born 11-30-78 . . . graduated from the Mendoza College of Business with degree in accounting.
