A walk-on who adds depth to the tailback position after the departures of Tony Fisher and Terrance Howard . . .is one of the hardest workers on the team as he is always watching film to get better . . .was impressive in the '02 Blue-Gold game as he rushed for 17 yards on five carries . . .earned a monogram at the end of the '01 season. AS A SENIOR: Did not see action at tailback in '01. AS A JUNIOR: Made an appearance at wide receiver against Navy. AS A FRESHMAN: Did not see action as a freshman tailback . . . was one of three (along with Matthew Sarb and John Crowther) walk-ons taken as a freshman in '98 . . . carried the ball three times for 17 yards in the '99 Blue-Gold game. HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA: Was a two-year starter at tailback for Athens High School in Troy, Mich. . . . rushed for 1,634 yards and scored 12 touchdowns in his career . . . had over 2,000 rushing and receiving yards . . .averaged 7.2 yards per carry in high school . . . team captain and MVP as a senior . . .all-league and all-area selection at tailback . . . honorable mention Academic All-State selection . . . voted Best Male Athlete at Athens High School . . . as a junior ranked as one of the top five underclassmen in the country by the Oakland Press (list also included former Irish receiver Javin Hunter and Ohio State wide receiver Ricky Bryant) . . .brother Mike played football at Notre Dame (seeing action in 1991) . . . brother Pat played football at Western Michigan, graduating in '94 . . .has an overall grade-point average of 3.402, including earning Dean's List honors in the fall of '01 and the spring of '02 with over a 3.500 GPA . . .enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business, majoring in finance. |
