    AS A SOPHOMORE: Irish backup at defensive end in '98 . . . played in 10 games in '98 (all but Purdue and Baylor) in that role . . . played 41 plays vs. Michigan and 34 more vs. Michigan State in rotation on defensive line . . . made four stops vs. Michigan State . . . forced a fumble by Arizona State quarterback Ryan Kealy but the play was negated by an Irish penalty . . . pulled a hamstring vs. Army and did not play vs. Baylor, then returned vs. Boston College . . . recovered a fumble vs. Navy . . . played reserve role vs. Georgia Tech in '99 Gator Bowl, also making two special team appearances in that contest.

    AS A FRESHMAN: Played in one game in '97, seeing brief action vs. Boston College as reserve defensive end . . . did not see game action as rookie defensive lineman in '96.

    HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA: Helped team to championship game of 4A playoffs in '95 Indiana state finals . . .
