Blue Defeats Gold in Spring Finale
Denson earns Offensive MVP, runs for 109 yards.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. --- Tailback Autry Denson gained 109 yards on 11 carries for the Blue team and was named the Offensive Most Valuable Player as the University of Notre Dame football team wrapped up its spring drills with the 69th playing of the Blue-Gold game before 21,051 fans at Notre Dame Stadium.
The Blue team, comprised of the Irish starters, won the game by a 38-7 score over the Gold team, comprised of reserves.
Quarterback Jarious Jackson was 15 of 31 in the air for the Blue team with three interceptions and a touchdown pass. Malcolm Johnson had six receptions for 110 yards.
Defensively, the Blue team was led by linebacker Kory Minor who made five tackles, two for a loss and another for a sack. He was named the Defensive Player of the Game
The Gold team was led on the ground by Jay Vickers, who had nine carries for 25 yards while quarterback Eric Chappell was 4 for 8 in the air for 66 yards and a TD. Quarterback Zak Kustok was 3 for 10 for 52 yards.
