NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- All six of Notre Dame's 2000 home football games are sold out, based on applications from contributing alumni -- with demand for tickets for the Sept. 9 Notre Dame-Nebraska game ranking second highest in Notre Dame Stadium history.

Because contributing alumni requests outnumbered the quantity of tickets available for each of the six games (approximately 32,000 per game), all six games will go through the lottery process, ensuring their status as sellouts.

There were 47,865 tickets requested for the 2000 Notre Dame-Nebraska game. Only the 1997 Notre Dame-USC game (with 57,048 tickets requested) drew a greater response from contributing alumni.

The interest from the Notre Dame side mirrored that at Nebraska where more than 28,000 ticket requests were received for the Huskers' 4,000 available tickets.

Notre Dame's final 1999 home game against Boston College marked the 149th consecutive sellout at Notre Dame Stadium (and the 197th in the last 198 games). That figure now is guaranteed to move to 155 straight sellouts (and 203 of the last 204 overall) by the end of the 2000 season.

Refurbished Notre Dame Stadium now holds 80,012 fans. The Irish ranked 10th nationally in attendance in 1999.
