MARION, Ind. - The University of Notre Dame football team opened up preparations for the 2013 season Monday with a workout in helmets under comfortable conditions at the Shiloh Park Camp Retreat and Conference Center.
The Irish departed at 9 a.m. from South Bend and arrived to camp just after 11 a.m. After getting settled into their accommodations, the team gathered for lunch before breaking into team meetings.
Notre Dame conducted a 24-period practice from approximately 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET. Due to the NCAA five-day acclamation period, the players were suitably prepared as they practiced in shorts and helmets and without pads.
