Prior to the 2005 football season, the NCAA passed legislation limiting media guides to 208 pages. Notre Dame played its first football in 1887 and eventually developed into the greastest of all college football programs. In the past, the Notre Dame Football Media Guide held the entire history of the program, but since the NCAA legislation a large portion of the record section was cut out.
