Long Snapper Jordan Cowart

Sophomore Jordan Cowart arrived at Notre Dame in hopes of filling the Irish need for a long snapper on special teams. As soon as his career in an Irish uniform commenced, he began handling snaps for the punting unit and occasionally the field goal unit.. GameDay's Daniel Byrne gives Irish fans a chance to get to know Jordan Cowart.
Byrne: What is your favorite place on campus?
Cowart: I would have to say my dorm.
Byrne: What is your major and why does it interest you?
Cowart: Right now I think I'm going to be a political science major.
Byrne: What is the most important thing you've learned while playing at Notre Dame?
Cowart: I've learned to come to practice ready to practice, because the coaches expect the best.
Byrne: What song always gets you ready to take the field?
Cowart: I always listen to Dig by Mudvayne
Byrne: What TV show do you never miss?
Cowart: I have to make sure I see the new Dexter when it's on.
Byrne: North or South Dining hall?
Cowart: It's got to be North.
Byrne: If you could have any superpower what would you want?
Cowart: I would want invisibility.
Byrne: Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?
Cowart: My mother because she fought through an illness and came out strong. She is the strongest person I know.
Byrne: What song on your Ipod would surprise people?
Cowart: Dota by Basshunter
Byrne: What was your best Halloween costume growing up?
Cowart: One year I went as a "Cereal-killer." I had a bunch of cereal boxes on me with forks and knives in them.
Byrne: Do you have any pre-game rituals?
Cowart: I just like listening to my favorite music.
Byrne: If Coach Kelly were not coaching, what would he be doing?
Cowart: He's a pretty smart guy. I could see him as a lawyer for sure.
Byrne: What teammate would you say is the best gamer?
Cowart: That would be Dan Fox.
Byrne: Who is the best joker on the team?
Cowart: Armando Allen is a funny guy.
Byrne: What was the one thing that sold you on Notre Dame?
Cowart: I was sold on the environment, how the people act, and their values and morals. I've been in a Catholic school since I was little, and they have the same values and teach the same way. That was a big thing for me.
Byrne: Who is your favorite professor on campus?
Cowart: Gail Bederman my "Sex and Morality" teacher; she is the most down to earth teacher I have met.
Byrne: What is the best advice you've ever received?
Cowart: Life is never as good as it seems, life is never as bad as it seems, but somewhere between, reality falls.
Byrne: Any hidden talents?
Cowart: I'm very good at playing video games.
Byrne: Favorite coach Kelly saying?
Cowart: "You don't win on Saturdays. You win during the week during practice."
Byrne: What is your earliest football memory?
Cowart: It would have to be playing flag football in eighth grade and playing every position.
