Notre Dame Pounds Navy 50-10 in Dublin
Notre Dame scored touchdowns on its first three possessions and defensive end Stephon Tuitt returned a fumble 77 yards for another TD as the Fighting Irish routed Navy 50-10 in Saturday's season opener in Ireland.
Saturday is the 236th straight sellout at Notre Dame Stadium. Since 1966, every home game for the Irish has been a sellout except one - a 1973 Thanksgiving Day game vs. Air Force. Notre Dame has played in front of sellouts in 284 of its last 285 home games.
Notre Dame has played in front of sellout crowds in 261 of its previous 305 games (.856) overall. Notre Dame has played before 632 sellouts in 906 total games (.698) since 1930.

Notre Dame and Navy will play one another for the 87th straight year on Saturday, making it the longest continuous intersectional rivalry in the country. The Irish hold a 73-12-1 (.855) edge in the series. Notre Dame has won 46 of the last 49 meetings in the series.
