COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF
12 WR Will Fuller has 12 receiving TDs this year, tying for sixth in the nation. Eight of the 12 TDs have been 30 yards or longer.
11 Notre Dame has scored 11 TDs this year of at least 50 yards. It is believed to be a school record, eclipsing the 10 TDs of at least 50 yards compiled by the 1988 consensus national championship team.
10 Notre Dame is looking to improve to 10-0 with the win. Coupled with the 2012 season (12-1) the Irish would have two 10-win seasons in a four year span for the first time since hitting double digits five times in six years from 1988-93.
9 LB Jaylon Smith (number nine) is a midseason first-team All-American. He leads the Irish with 87 tackles on the season on the heels of a career-high tying 14 stops last Saturday against Wake Forest.
8 DL Romeo Okwara ranks eighth in the nation with his nine sacks (0.90 per game).
7 This is the seventh installment of the Shamrock Series where Notre Dame takes a home game off campus to help maintain its national footprint. The Irish are 6-0 in the Shamrock Series.
6 Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly has won at least eight games in each of his first six years at Notre Dame. Only one "Power 5" head coach (LSU's Les Miles with 10) has a longer active streak to start their tenure at his current school.
5 Notre Dame currently holds all five of its traveling trophies. The Frank Leahy Memorial Bowl is on the line this week.
4 Notre Dame is 4-1 this year against ACC teams. The Irish have never beaten five teams from the same league in the same season. On six occasions, the Irish have beat four Big Ten teams in one season, most recently in 1993.
3 Freshman RB Josh Adams has three 100-yard rushing efforts on the season, matching the school's freshman record.
2 Only twice in school history has an Irish quarterback ran for more TDs in a single season than DeShone Kizer's eight - Tony Rice (nine in 1988) and Rick Mirer (nine in 1991).
1 The Irish have scored at least 22 points in each of their first 10 games. This has only happened one other time in school history, by the consensus national championship team of 1949.
0 Of 175 previous neutral site games, Notre Dame has never played one closer to its opponent's home field than the 3.9 miles from Alumni Stadium to Fenway Park.
