Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn, who established school records for total passing yards and touchdown passes in 2005, is the winner of the Sammy Baugh Award presented to college football's top passer by The Touchdown Club of Columbus. The award was first presented in 1959 and has been held by legendary players including Steve Young, John Elway, Daunte Culpepper, David Carr, and last year's winner, Louisville quarterback Stefon Lefors.
In leading the Fighting Irish to a 9-2 record and a showdown with Ohio State in The Fiesta Bowl on January 2nd, Quinn completed 65% of his passes in 2005 for more than 3600 yards and 32 touchdowns. The junior from Dublin, Ohio will return to Central Ohio to be honored at the Touchdown Club of Columbus 51st Annual Sports Banquet scheduled for Saturday, February 4, 2006 at the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion (formerly PromoWest Pavilion) in Downtown Columbus.
