This is an exciting time to be a part of the 125th year of Notre Dame Football! Eligible members of the Notre Dame Family will have the opportunity to apply for bowl tickets via the annual bowl ticket lottery. Once appropriate, an email will be sent to those eligible containing the information needed to apply for tickets via the online process. High levels of demand are anticipated for this year's bowl game tickets. A lottery will be conducted should demand exceed supply. Please take the time to review the F.A.Q.'s listed below to help with the process.
If I won in the lottery when will I get my tickets? The tickets will be sent out via FedEx standard overnight delivery on Monday December 17th. Delivery may take longer to some locations.
When can I expect to get the refund to my credit card for the tickets that I did not win in the lottery? The refund process has already begun. Those that were unsuccessful should see a credit on their card no later than 12/22.
If a student won a ticket and is unable to attend the game, is there a way I can purchase that ticket? No. Tickets are non-transferrable and may only be used by the winning student.
What is the ticket office going to do with all the student tickets that were not picked up in Miami? It is expected that all student tickets will be claimed.
Is there any way to buy tickets on site for the game? Should you choose to pursue a secondary market option, we suggest you ensure a ticket validity guarantee is provided.
How can I get on a waiting list in case of any cancellations? There is no wait list. Cancellations are not expected.
Where does the $25 processing fee go? Please know that the $25 non-refundable lottery processing fee (a lesser fee was charged for student applications) is not a revenue generation item. In fact, less than $1 million was collected with these per application (NOT per ticket) fees. The fee covers the many costs of conducting the most inclusive BCS Championship game ticket lottery in recent history. These costs include credit card transaction fees, associated bowl mailings, ticket shipping, internet transaction fees, processing charges and others. As such, the Athletic Department is able to maximize the benefit to the University from any bowl revenues. This fee has been part of all Notre Dame Football ticket lotteries for decades and was NOT instituted for the bowl.
If I won through Anthony Travel, will I still be charged the $25 application fee through the ticket office? Those who won in the lottery with an Anthony Travel package will be refunded in full including the $25 application fee.
How can I find out about ND events taking place at the BCS game in Miami? The links below will have all events posted as they are determined.
Will Notre Dame be having a 'watch party' on campus for the game? There are no plans at present, but discussions are underway.
What is the general criteria surrounding the "one's relationship with the University." Did only those who have donated the most over the longest period win the lottery? Or is there a chance that those who have not been able to contribute as much may still have won tickets? While the University would prefer if all students, alumni, fans, friends, parents, faculty and staff were able to purchase tickets for the bowl game, the demand and the relative small size of the allotment did not allow for such. However, given the design of the lottery process, a minimum of 5% from each eligible constituency did win tickets. These low win rates are simply a function of the staggering and extraordinary demand for tickets.
Why did I not receive an email about the bowl ticket lottery? While the Ticket Office made an effort to reach all eligible through the November direct mail postcard, the November 24th email as well as website and social media presence, it is possible that you were missed. As such, please take the opportunity to update your information with the University Alumni Files Office at 574-631-7959 and the Athletic Department Ticket Office via 574-631-7356 orseller1@nd.edu
