The Notre Dame men's golf team hosts annual tournament in unique way
FALL 2014: Made two tournament appearances as an unattached competitor during the fall schedule ... 76.60 stroke average over five rounds ... shared 14th place at the Notre Dame Kickoff Challenge (Aug. 30) for a career-best finish (75-77=152) ... solo 40th place at the Fighting Irish Golf Classic (78-77-76=231) at the Warren Golf Course and Lost Dunes Golf Club.
AS A JUNIOR: Appeared in one tournament during the fall season, placing in a tie for 74th place at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic (77-81-78=236) at the Warren Golf Course (Sept. 23-24).
AS A SOPHOMORE: Competed in three tournaments ... carded a 76.00 stroke average through nine rounds ... achieved one even-par round (second round 72, Tar Heel Intercollegiate Tournament) ... tied for 52nd place at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate after firing a 10-over-par 226 (76-72-78) ... tied for 57th place at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic with an 18-over-par 231 (79-76-76) through three rounds ... shared 28th place at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational after logging a 17-over-par 227 (79-72-76).
AS A FRESHMAN (Arizona State): Appeared in nine tournaments as a true freshman at Arizona State ... compiled a 75.11 stroke average in 28 competitive rounds ... finished in 14th place after firing a three-day total of 221 (73-71-77) at the WSU Snowman Getaway ... logged his best tournament of the season in relation to par at the Palm Valley Desert Shootout, shooting 217 (75-70-72) to finish one-over par ... third-round 69 was his lowest round of the year on day three of the Wyoming Cowboy Classic.
PREP AND PERSONAL: Four-year letterwinner at Brophy Prep ... recipient of the Brophy Scholar-Athlete award, given annually to the premiere student-athlete in his senior class ... studied in Barrett, The Honors College, a selective residential program, during his freshman year at Arizona State ... enrolled in the College of Arts and Letters, majoring in theology with a supplementary major in Spanish.
