Men's Golf
Returns to the Notre Dame men’s golf team after sitting out the 1999-2000 season ... talented player will be counted on to join the top five golfers in the Irish lineup ... showed outstanding golf skills in his one semester of play in the fall of 1998 ... led Notre Dame with a 74.77 in his first semester (fall of 1998) ... played in the fall Campus Championship and finished second with a 292 total on rounds of 73-72-77-70.
AS A FRESHMAN (Fall of ’98): Led Irish with 74.77 stroke average, counting to team score in 10 of 13 rounds ... posted two sub-par rounds, eight of 75 or lower and one in the 80s ... started his collegiate career with a 225 (73-74-78) at the Air Force Invitational ... finished in a 20th place tie at the Iowa Intercollegiate with rounds of 76-75-74 for a 54-hole total of 225 ... season highlight came at Legends of Indiana Intercollegiate, when he fired a four-under 68 in final round which equalled the best single round score by a Notre Dame golfer in 20 years and was the third-best in team history (behind a 64 by Mike O’Connell, Sr. in ’62-’63 and a 67 by Bob Ferrel in ’61-’62) ... tied for 10th at Legends with a one-over 217 (74-75-68) ... his round of 68 included a three-putt bogey, five birdies and 12 pars to tie for the best round of the tournament ... finished in a tie for 14th at the Louisville Intercollegiate with a 153 (70-83) ... counted towards the team scoring in nine of final ten rounds, 10 of 13 for the fall ... took all-BIG EAST honors after finishing fourth at the BIG EAST Championship with a 36-hole total of 152 (75-77) ... placed fourth at the ‘98 fall Campus Championship by shooting a 10-over-par, 298 (74-76-78-70) at the Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend.
