CLINTON, S.C. - A steady performance from the top to the bottom of the Notre Dame men's golf team's lineup has left the 11th-seeded Irish above that predicted placing and in seventh place after Friday's opening round of the ACC Championship at Musgrove Mill Golf Club in Clinton, South Carolina.

With all five participants packed between 19th and 35th place, Notre Dame took home a 293 (+5) on Friday, placing it ahead of two of the country's top 29 teams and looking up at only six of the nation's top 33 squads. Of the 12 schools, only pace-setter No. 21 Duke (277, -11) had each of its five golfers place higher than Notre Dame's five participants in the 60-golfer field on Friday.

Due to expected rain on Sunday, the event's format has been altered such that the teams will now play the final 36 holes on Saturday. Notre Dame's tee times begin at 7:30 a.m., paired with No. 29 North Carolina and Virginia Tech.
