NOTRE DAME, Ind. - A dramatic improvement in weather conditions changed the dynamic on day two of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic Monday at the Warren Golf Course.

Play was delayed for 30 minutes at the start of the round due to chilly temperatures overnight, but there were no lingering stoppages throughout the day.

Junior Andrew Carreon (San Antonio, Texas) turned in his second consecutive 73 to set the pace for Notre Dame in a tie for 19th place at 146 (+4). Carreon birdied three holes, including the par-5 10th, to highlight his round.

Senior Paul McNamara III (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.), coming off a 71 on day one, will tee off in the 10:10 a.m. (ET) pairing off the 10th hole Tuesday following a second round 76 (71-76-147, +5).

Junior Andrew Lane (Fairport, N.Y.) rolled in consecutive birdies at numbers four and five as part of his two-over par, 73 to claim a share of 32nd place (75-73-148).

UNC Wilmington's Thomas Bass turned in the round of the day, bogeying one hole on his way to a three-under par 68 and a two-shot lead in the individual draw. Michigan's Noori Hyun bounced back from an opening-day 73 with six birdies of his own, carding a matching 68 to tie for second place at -1 (73-68-141). Michigan State's Matthew Moseley (70-71-141, -1) will round out the final pairing for day three.

Michigan State took a seven-stroke lead after carding a two-under par, 282 (287-282-569). UNC Wilmington fired the lowest team score of the afternoon, posting a four-under 280 to earn runner-up honors (296-280-576). San Francisco (292-285-577), No. 38 Houston (287-292-579) and Xavier (295-291-586) closed out the top-five.

The third and final round of the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. (ET) Tuesday.
