The Notre Dame men's golf team shot a 294 on the final day of the Prestige at PGA West to finish in 11th place. The 294 marked Notre Dame's best round of the tournament and moved the Irish to +31 (299-302-294-895) for the three-day event. Sophomores Max Scodro (Chicago, Ill./Notre Dame Prep (AZ)) and Chris Walker (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands) led the Irish, turning in final round even-par 72's.
Scodro finished as Notre Dame's three-day leader as well, tying for 26th (72-77-72-221/+5). His final day 72 included five birdies. He played the par-five's at a minus-seven clip for the tournament, which tied for the second best mark in the field. He was also one of 12 players to notch an eagle.
Walker finished tied for 42nd after his final round even-par performance (76-77-72-225/+9). His third round included a birdie and a bogey to go along with 16 pars. He notched 38 pars over the course of his three rounds of play, which tied for the third-highest total in the field.
Junior Connor Alan-Lee (Solana Beach, Calif./La Jolla Country Day School) saw his third round 74 counted towards Notre Dame's team score. He finished tied for 37th (76-74-74-224/+8). Alan-Lee played the tournament's par-three's at minus one, tying for the seventh best mark in the 80-player field. He also recorded 10 birdies at the tournament.
Senior Doug Fortner (Tustin, Calif./Foothill) rounded out Notre Dame's final round scoring as he carded a 76. He finished tied for 64th (77-78-76-231/+15) and he had four birdies on the final day of play. Senior Josh Sandman (Greensboro, N.C./Southeast Guilford) turned in a final day 81 to finish tied for 57th (75-74-81-230/+14).
