Notre Dame Men's Golf Takes 16th at Louisville Intercollegiate
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Notre Dame men's golf team fell out of a share for third place
to finish 16th out of 23 teams Tuesday at the Persimmon Ridge Intercollegiate.
Notre Dame totaled a 299 in Monday's opening round, just three shots off the pace of
team leader Akron, but the Irish slipped to a 325 in the second round. Akron totaled
594 to claim the team title while Kentucky, Indiana and Michigan tied for runner-up
honors (601).
Notre Dame junior Brad Hardin and sophomore Todd Vernon were tied for sixth after
opening-round 73s. Hardin shot a second-round 80 to finish tied for 30th among the
120-player field (153) while Vernon finished at 154. Sophomore Jeff Connell totaled
a 157 (80-77) while senior Bryan Weeks turned in rounds of 76 and 83 (159) and senior
Brad Stanis finished at 167 (82-85).
