Notre Dame Tied for Third at University of Kentucky/Johnny Owens Invite

LEXINGTON, Kty.- The Notre Dame men's golf team stands tied for 3rd at the University of Kentucky/Johnny Owens Invitational after two rounds today. The Irish totaled rounds of 301 and 293 at the par 72 Kearney Hill Golf Links.

Defending champion Toledo- leads competition with a 579 total- followed by host- Kentucky (591). Notre Dame and Ball State are tied at 594 in the twenty-team competition.

As individuals, Notre Dame sophomore Todd Vernon (75-72) and junior. Willie Kent (72-75) are tied for 15th with scores of 147.

Other Notre Dame scores include Brad Hardin (75-74), Bryan Weeks (79-72), and jeff Connell (79-75).

The tournament concludes with the final 18-hole round on Saturday April 4th.
