    PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - Sophomore Doug Fortner is among a group of a golfers tied for 18th place at 147 (+3) after Monday's second round of the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational, played at the Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Notre Dame is 15th through 36 holes of its spring opening tournament at 31-over par 607 (306-301), while Alabama continues to maintain its lead at 583 (+7).

    Fortner fired a one-over par 73 on Monday and finds himself eight shots off the individual lead, held by Georgia State's Joel Sjoholm. The tournament was delayed nearly two hours on Monday due to rain, with many of the early golfers (including Notre Dame's quintet) needing more than five hours to complete their second circuit.

    Junior Josh Sandman (Greensboro, N.C./Southeast Guilford) is tied for 29th place after 36 holes with a five-over par 149 (73-76). Sophomore Carl Santos-Ocampo (Naples, Fla./Community School of Naples), who is playing as an individual participant this week, is tied for 47th place at eight-over par 152 (76-76), while freshman Connor Alan-Lee (Solana Beach, Calif./La Jolla Country Day School) is tied for 64th place at 12-over par 156 (78-78). Completing the Irish scoring are freshman Tyler Hock (Ocala, Fla./Forest), who is in a tie for 77th place at 18-over par 162 (88-74), and senior co-captain Doug Rodgers (Phoenix, Md./St. Paul's School), who is in 81st place at 23-over par 167 (81-86).

    Fortner will lead off for Notre Dame in Tuesday's final round at the Sawgrass Country Club, with the rest of the Irish following at nine-minute intervals.
