    -THE LAYOUT
The Finkbine Golf Course is the official championship golf course of the University of Iowa Department of Athletics. Named for W.O. -KUBINSKI ON THE COURSE
"This is our first time at Iowa in my years coaching at ND. It's a parkland course and looks to be a nice test, especially given the challenging forecast.”

    -TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The 54-hole stroke play tournament begins with a shotgun start Saturday at 9 a.m. (CT), with the second round tentatively set for 1:30 p.m. Sunday’s third round shotgun start has yet to be announced.

    -LOOKING AHEAD
Notre Dame travels to the BIG EAST Championship April 28-30 at the Reunion Resort Watson Course in Orlando, Fla.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s golf team closes its 2013 regular season this weekend at the Hawkeye – Great River Entertainment Invitational at the Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, Iowa.

“To date, we've turned those 70 and 71 rounds into 74 and 75 scores,” Irish head coach Jim Kubinski says. “It has been mostly due to a lot of pressing, a "trying too hard" mentality. Our play at home and in practice rounds has seen many par or better scores. We need to bring the same feel to our tournament play.“

Four members of Notre Dame’s starting lineup will return from the Irish Creek Collegiate last weekend. Senior Paul McNamara III, junior Niall Platt, junior Andrew Lane and freshman Cory Sciupider will be joined by sophomore Tyler Wingo to round out the Irish starting five.

The first round of the Hawkeye – Great River Entertainment Invitational will begin with a shotgun start Saturday at 9 a.m. (CT).

“We're learning to focus on the shot itself and not what it means,” Kubinski says. “It has been a slow process but I've seen signs of growth. When we allow ourselves to get into a comfort zone competing, our talent will show."
