Construction continues on the Robert & Marilyn Rolfs Family All-Season Varsity Golf Facility on the northeast portion of campus. The photos are provided by Mike Bennett from Lighthouse Imaging.

The front entrance to the $2.1 million facility is taking
shape. Fully-furnished locker rooms for both the Irish men's and
women's golf teams and offices for the respective coaching staffs, as
well as a players lounge and club repair room, will be located in
this southern wing of the building (photo taken from southeast
corner/Douglas Road side).

This view of the eastern side of the Rolfs Facility
shows not only the locker room and office wing near the front
entrance (left side of photo), but also the expansive hitting bays
and a nearly 5,000-square foot indoor short game area that includes a
putting green, chip and pitch area and practice bunker. The current
outdoor putting green can be seen in the foreground.

A closer look at one of the two hitting bays in the
facility. The sliding garage doors open out onto the driving range
and allow players to work on their swings in all weather conditions.
What's more, the hitting bays will incorporate state-of-the-art video
technology and equipment to give players and coaches instant
feedback. These hitting bays can accommodate up to six players at
once (three per bay).

A view of the northwest corner of the Rolfs Facility (not
far from the second fairway at the Warren Golf Course), with the
two-story indoor practice area at the forefront. Without question,
when construction is completed in the fall of 2006, it will be one of
the nation's finest college golf facilities and give both the Notre
Dame men's and women's golf teams every opportunity to continue
competing for national championships on a regular basis.
