NOTRE DAME, Ind.- Golfweek Magazine has named the University of Notre Dame's Warren Golf Course as one of top 30 campus courses in the nation for the third consecutive year.

The 18-hole, par 71 public course ranks eleventh on the list just in front of Duke University Golf Course (Durham, N.C.) and behind The Orchards (South Hadley, Mass.).

Warren Golf Course has increased its rankings by at least one spot every year since making the list, ranking 14th in 2010 and 12th in 2011.

"The Golfweek Best Campus Courses ranking is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Warren Golf Course's maintenance staff and golf operations staff. The resulting product is something of which the entire Notre Dame community can be proud," general manager John Foster says.

The Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame was designed by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore. The pair carry an extensive portfolio designing courses all over the world including Golf du Medoc "The Chateaux Course (Le Pian Medoc Bordeaux, France), Country Club of Montreal (Montreal, Canada) and Lost Farm at Barnbougle Dunes (Bridport, Tasmania Australia) to name a few.

Since its opening in the spring of 2000, thanks to the generous donation of Notre Dame alumnus Bill Warren ('56), the Warren Golf Course has hosted numerous events that most recently included the 2012 United States Men's Amateur Championship, the '11 NCAA Division I Women's Regional Championship and Men's U.S. Open Qualifier in '10.

The 7,020-yard course features scenic views modeling after the early 1900s vintage style that is channeled through 250 wooden acres on the southwest side of campus.

Warren Golf Course is distinctively famous for its late 1800s style clubhouse and features rectangular tee boxes with no marked par on the course, posting only the yardage on each hole.

The United States Golf Association currently gives the course a 74.6 course rating from the men's championship tees and a 135 slope rating.

Golfweek Magazine is the second ranking the course have received this year after being named a top ten collegiate course by Links Magazine in August.

"Every day we try to make the golf experience at the Warren Golf Course even better than the day before," Foster remarks.
