AS A JUNIOR: Joined Karr, sophomore winger Chad Chipchase and freshmen centers David Inman and Brett Henning as only players to appear in all 38 games ... named to CCHA honorable mention all-academic team, with Karr and senior left wing Aniket Dhadphale named to six-player first team ... spent most of season on the blue line, with limited action as a winger ... finished with one goal, one assist, 29 shots and 10 penalties (31 minutes) ... helped Irish post team record for goals-against average (2.60) ... assisted on Ben Simon’s goal as Notre Dame jumped out to an early lead in 3-2 win over Michigan ... scored unassisted goal from the right point with two minutes left in third period of late-season 3-1 loss at Michigan State, ending Irish scoreless streak that had reached 204 minutes and 92 shots.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Appeared in 14 games, including final 13 ... did not play in first 20 games before playing Jan. 2 vs. Miami ... also played on Jan. 31 at Michigan and in final 12 games ... totaled six shots and four penalties ... helped Irish allow just 2.42 goals per game over that final five weeks.
AS A FRESHMAN: Appeared in 18 of final 21 games, on third and fourth lines ... had one goal, three assists and five penalties ... made debut in 15th game, 4-3 last-minute loss at Michigan State ... assisted on Craig Hagkull’s goal that put the Irish ahead of Alaska Fairbanks 3-0 (the Nanooks rallied for a 5-4 win) ... assisted a week later in 5-2 win over #8 St. Cloud State, feeding Neal Johnson for the go-ahead first-period goal (2-1) ... scored early in first period of late game with Ohio State, giving the Irish a 2-0 lead (the Buckeyes won 4-3) ... set up Tim Harberts’ late first-period goal against Western Michigan, for a 2-1 lead in eventual 5-4 overtime win.
PREP & PERSONAL: Led Omaha Lancers to second-place USHL finish in ’95, with a goal and nine assists as a defenseman ... played in ’94-’95 with the Wisconsin Capitols, with two goals and 14 assists as a defenseman ... teamed on Capitols with former Irish teammate Forrest Karr ... had six goals, 16 assists for Madison West High School in ’93-’94 ... netted the triple-overtime, game-winning goal versus rival high school as a senior ... captained Madison West to conference title as a senior, earning all-conference, all-city and all-state honors ... also played hockey at Madison West as a sophomore and junior ... selected team captain of Team Wisconsin and captain of the all-conference team ... played center field for Madison West baseball team as junior and senior, twice earning all-conference and all-city while playing on two regional title teams ... hit .485 as a junior, .450 as a senior ... received Roland “Spike” Annen Award for “most competitive player” in city and William Gillet II Award for athletic leadership ... his uncle Richard Schrippa played football at N.C.
