Ann Arbor, Mich. - Michigan's Jeff Tambellini scored twice and added two assists while David Moss scored a pair of goals to lead the sixth-ranked Wolverines to a 6-3 win over Notre Dame Saturday night in front of 6,938 at Yost Arena.

Notre Dame got goals from T.J. Jindra, Victor Oreskovich and Matt Amado as the Irish winless streak went to 15 games (0-13-2).

The loss dropped the Irish to 5-23-6 overall and 3-18-5 in the CCHA. Michigan goes to 24-7-3 and 21-3-2 in conference play.

After Michigan took a 2-0 first period lead on goals by Kevin Porter and Tambellini, the Irish rallied to cut the lead to 3-2 after Jindra and Oreskovich scored around Moss' first goal of the night.

Early in the third period, trailing 3-2, the Irish got a break when Porter was whistled off on a five-minute major and Tim Cook took a roughing penalty to make it a 5-on-3 for Notre Dame for one-minute-and-13 seconds. The Irish could not score as Al Montoya robbed Cory McLean on the doorstep on the best Notre Dame scoring chance with the advantage.

Andrew Ebbett locked up the win with a power-play tally at 12:59 and Tambellini's second goal of the night was the insurance goal at 18:10 for a 5-2 lead. Amado answered back with his fifth of the year just 19 seconds later at 18:29 and Moss closed the scoring with an empty-net goal with 16 seconds left for the 6-3 final.

On the night, Michigan out shot Notre Dame by a 38-14 margin. Montoya made 11 saves in the win, while David Brown had 32 saves for the Irish.

The Irish have next week off and return to action on Friday, March 4 when they travel to Michigan State for a 7:05 p.m. game to start a home-and-home series with the Spartans.
