Bowling Green, Ohio - Notre Dame's goal-scoring woes continued on Thursday night at the Bowling Green Ice Arena as the Irish could score just once on the night as Bowling Green used two third-period goals to snap a 1-1 tie on the way to a 3-1 victory.

Dana Hanson and Alex Foster netted their first collegiate goals in the third period and goaltender Jordan Sigalet made 11 of his 30 saves in the final stanza to secure the win.

The Irish have now scored just 11 goals in the first eight games of the season, including just one goal in the third period.

The loss drops the Irish to 1-5-2 overall and 0-4-1 in CCHA play while the Falcons go to 4-1-0 overall and 2-1-0 in league play.

Morgan Cey made 34 saves on the night for the Irish who got their lone goal of the night from freshman Mark Van Guilder midway through the game.

Cey kept the Irish in the game in the first period as Bowling Green peppered the senior goaltender with 17 shots with only a power-play tally getting past the Wilkie, Saskatchewan native. Of the 11 goals given up by Cey this season, only four have come at even strength.

The Falcons broke through at 6:50 of the first period on one of their nine power-play chances in the game. Center John Mazzei was able to control an Irish clearing attempt along the right wing boards and then fired a shot at Cey who made the stop. Derek Whitmore grabbed the rebound to the left of Cey and lifted a backhander over the Irish goaltender for his second goal of the season.

Van Guilder tied the game for Notre Dame with his first collegiate goal at 10:49 of the second period. With the puck in the left wing corner, the freshman left wing teamed with Cory McLean ton strip the Bowling Green defender of the puck. McLean moved it to Van Guilder who came out of the corner and stuffed the puck between Sigalet's pads to even the score at 1-1.

The two teams traded shots in the final period (11 each) with the Falcons getting the game winner on the power play.

Foster sent a centering pass in front of the Irish goal that missed everyone. The puck went to the left wing boards where Hanson tracked it down and floated a shot toward the net that found its way over Cey's blocker and under the cross bar for the game winner at 8:10.

Foster then got the insurance goal when Mazzei forced a turnover in the Notre Dame zone and the freshman left wing snapped a shot from the slot past Cey at 16:21 for the final score of 3-1.

The Falcons out shot the Irish, 37-31, in the game. Sigalet finished with 30 saves in the Bowling Green net.
