OVERVIEW
-- Riding the nation’s longest unbeaten streak (9-0-3 over the last 12 games), the Fighting Irish will host rival Boston College on Friday night in the teams’ second meeting of the season.
-- The Eagles (9-1-4) and Irish (10-1-2) are tied for second in Hockey East with 22 points, one behind UMass Lowell.
-- Boston College has two games in hand with the River Hawks, while Notre Dame has played three fewer Hockey East games than Lowell.

TWELVE GAME UNBEATEN STREAK
--
Notre Dame carries a nation-best, 12-game unbeaten streak (9-0-3) into Friday night’s showdown with Boston College.
--
The 12-game unbeaten streak is the fifth-longest mark in program history and is Notre Dame’s longest unbeaten stretch since going 17-0-3 from Oct. 31 2008 - Jan. 17, 2009.
--
The current unbeaten streak dates back to a 3-1 win over Western Michigan on Nov. 28 (the consolation game of the Shillelagh Tournament).
-- The Irish are averaging 4.0 goals-per game during the unbeaten streak while yielding just 1.6 goals against per game.
-- Sophomore goaltender Cal Petersen, who has started all 25 games this season, has posted a 1.58 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage during the unbeaten streak.
-- Sophomore Anders Bjork (7-8-15) leads the team in scoring during the streak.

LAST MEETING: COMEBACK AT CONTE
-- Trailing 3-1 at 7:05 of the third period, Notre Dame scored three straight goals to post a 4-3, come-from-behind win at third-ranked Boston College on Dec. 10 at Conte Forum (4,863).
--
Jordan Gross started the comeback, scoring his sixth goal of the season on a wrist shot from the point at 8:33 of the third, cutting Boston College’s lead to 3-2.
--
After Jake Evans won an offensive zone face-off, Andrew Oglevie wired a wrist shot to the top corner past Thatcher Demko’s glove at 15:26 to tie it at 3-3.
-- With 22 seconds left in the third and overtime looming, Dennis Gilbert sent a slap shot through traffic to hand the Irish the 4-3 win, snapping Boston College’s 13-game unbeaten streak.
-- It was Gilbert’s first career game winner.
-- The teams were knotted at 1-1 after the first period of play, including Jack Jenkins’ first career goal.
-- Early in the second period, Petersen kept it a 1-1 game when he saved Colin White’s penalty shot with his left pad (first penalty shot Petersen faced in his Notre Dame career).

THE BOSTON COLLEGE SERIES
-- Boston College and Notre Dame renew their rivalry on Friday night at the Compton Family Ice Arena.
-- It  will mark the 41st meeting between the sides with BC holding a 20-18-2 edge in 40 meetings.
-- The series began in December of 1969 and, since 1995, the teams have met every year except for two (1999-2000 and 2005-06).
-- Last season, the Irish and Eagles split a weekend series at the Compton Family Ice Arena, with Boston College taking game one, 2-0 (Feb. 27).
-- Notre Dame bounced back with a 3-1 Senior Night victory (Feb. 28), on goals by Anders Bjork, Jordan Gross and Austin Wuthrich.
-- Cal Petersen made 55 saves in that Notre Dame victory.
-- The Eagles helped dedicate the Compton Family Ice Arena on Nov. 18, 2011 as No. 4 Notre Dame downed No. 3 BC, 3-2 in overtime when Bryan Rust scored with 1.1 seconds remaining.
-- Boston College dominated the first half of the series, going 14-7-2 against the Irish from 1969-2002, but Notre Dame has ruled the rivalry since, going 11-6-0 since 2003.
-- The teams met in the 2014 Hockey East quarterfinals with Notre Dame claiming a best-of-three series at Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Mass., upsetting the top-seeded Eagles.
-- Other recent notable meetings include a 4-3 BC win at Fenway Park (Jan. 4, 2014), while  BC also defeated the Irish 4-1 in the 2008 NCAA Championship game in Denver, Colorado (Notre Dame’s first appearance in the NCAA Championship game).

MARQUEE COACHING MATCH-UP
-- Notre Dame head coach Jeff Jackson and Boston College head coach Jerry York, who became the first college hockey coach to reach 1,000 career wins last weekend, are two of the 18 head coaches that have won multiple NCAA Div. I Championships.
-- At Notre Dame, Jackson is 9-6-0 versus York and the Eagles.
-- As head coaches, the duo first met on Oct. 12-13, 1990 during Jackson’s first season as head coach at Lake Superior State when the Lakers turned in a weekend sweep of York’s Falcons (defeating Bowling Green by scores of 3-1 and 10-2).
-- Heading into Friday night’s game, Jackson and York have two of the seven best active career winning percentages in NCAA Div. I (minimum of five years):
.661 -- Red Berenson, Michigan (824-402-88)
.660 -- Jeff Jackson, Notre Dame (422-200-72)
.639 -- Don Lucia, Minnesota (687-367-97)
.627 -- Nate Leaman Providence (194-107-41)

-- Lucia became the 49th Notre Dame player to reach 100 career points and the first since the 2012-13 season when both Anders Lee (61-55-116) and T.J. Tynan (54-107-161) reached 100 points.
-- After scoring three goals in the first 19 games of the season, Lucia has scored six goals over the last six games, beginning with the Western Michigan series (Jan. 8-9).

-- Gross’ seven goals rank tied for fifth on the Irish (all skaters) and rank tied for fifth nationally in goals by defensemen.
-- Gross’ 22 points are the third most in the country among defensemen, trailing only Jake Walman of Providence (13-12-25) and Ethan Prow of St. Cloud State (5-20-25).
