Hockey's Dan Carlson Named Honorable Mention All-CCHA
March 7, 2001 Notre Dame, Ind. - Notre Dame senior left wing Dan Carlson (Sr., Edina, Minn.) was chosen as an honorable mention selection to the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's All-Conference Team. The 5-10, 180-pound forward finished the season as Notre Dame's leading scorer with 17 goals and 25 assists for 42 points. In 28 CCHA games, Carlson was tied for second with 17 goals scored and added 16 assists for 33 points which ranked him ninth in the league. His +13 rating in CCHA games tied him for third in that category. Carlson closed out his career ranked 20th on Notre Dame's all-time scoring list with 52 career goals and 80 assists for 132 points. He is also fourth all-time with six shorthanded goals, 13th in power play goals (19) and tied for eight with nine game winning goals. He also played in more games than any other Notre Dame hockey player (158) missing just two games when he participated in the World Junior Championships as a member of the U.S. Junior National Team. Carlson was also selected to the CCHA All-Academic Team for his work in the classroom where he has a 3.49 grade point average with a double major in finance and computer applications. One of Notre Dame's alternate captains this season, Carlson has been named to the Dean's List in five consecutive semesters.
