Notre Dame and Lake Superior State will meet in the third and deciding game of the best-of-three second round CCHA playoff series on Sunday night, March 14 at the Joyce Center. Face off is set for 7:05 p.m. The series goes to a third game due to the Lakers come-from-behind, 4-3, win on Saturday night. The winner of tonight's game advances to the CCHA Championships next weekend, March 17-18, at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich. The Irish bring a 22-11-5 overall record into Game 3 tonight and are 7-2-2 since Jan. 22. Lake Superior State is 13-16-9 overall and has won three of its last four games in the CCHA playoffs. The Lakers defeated Ohio State, two games to none, in their first round series a week ago. Notre Dame has played in seven game three situations in its CCHA playoff history and is 5-2 in those games. The last time the Irish played in a game three was in the second round of the 2008 playoffs when they won the third game, 2-1, to advance to the CCHA Championship.
