Slaggert And St. Cyr Win Gold With Team USA U18’s

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Notre Dame National Letter of Intent signees Graham Slaggert and Dylan St. Cyr as well as Notre Dame alum and head coach John Wroblewski helped the U.S. Men’s National Under-18 Team to a gold medal at the 2017 IIHF Under-18 men’s World Championship.


The tournament took place April 13-23 in Slovakia, including Team USA’s 4-2 gold-medal win over Finland. St. Cyr stopped 22 of the 24 shots he faced in the championship game and was named to the tournament's All-Star Team.


In seven games, St. Cyr posted a 1.96 goals against average and a .921 save percentage for Team USA, while Slaggert also skated in all seven games for Team USA.

Dan Colleran, associate athletics communications director at the University of Notre Dame, has been a part of Fighting Irish Media since August 2015 and coordinates all media and publicity efforts surrounding the Notre Dame hockey and golf programs. A native of Walpole, Massachusetts, Colleran spent the previous three years working with the men’s hockey and soccer programs at Providence College. Colleran also spent two years as an Assistant Executive Director of Communications & Championships at the Ivy League and is a graduate of Providence College (’06 & ’08G).
