UND.com is debuting another of its new interactive features for the 2010-11 season, with its weekly Fighting Irish Fan Chats. Each Wednesday afternoon, UND.com will sit down for a live chat session with student-athletes, coaches and administrators making news in the world of Fighting Irish athletics. Fans are invited to join in and offer questions or comments for our guests, and if you can't join us live, each chat will be archived so you can return to UND.com at your convenience and read what your favorite Notre Dame athletic personalities have to say on a variety of topics.

This week's Fighting Irish Fan Chat will take place from 1:00-2:00 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday (Oct. 6), as Notre Dame sophomore wide receiver Theo Riddick, Irish men's swimming coach Tim Welsh and Notre Dame associate head hockey coach Paul Pooley will join us.

Riddick will open the chat at 1:00 p.m., Welsh will follow from 1:20-1:40 and Pooley will close the chat from 1:40-2:00.

Riddick started out his Irish career as a running back. He rushed for 160 yards on 29 attempts as a rookie in 2009, but first-year head coach Brian Kelly liked the idea of moving Riddick to the slot in his spread offense. He was somewhat slow in his progression at wideout over Notre Dame's first two games of 2010. Riddick managed just four catches for 52 yards against Purdue and Michigan, but has found form over the last three games of the Irish. He has totaled 26 receptions for 268 yards and three touchdowns (all team-highs over the three-game stretch) against Michigan State, Stanford and Boston College.

Welsh and the Irish host the annual Dennis Stark Relays this Friday, Oct. 8 at the Rolfs Aquatic Center to begin the 2010-11 season.

Pooley and Notre Dame open the regular season at the Warrior College Hockey Icebreaker Tournament in St. Louis, Mo., on Friday, Oct. 8. The Irish will square off at 5:30 p.m. (CT) versus Holy Cross at the Scottrade Center, home of the NHL's St. Louis Blues. The second game of the tournament is at 8:30 p.m. (CT) between Boston University and Wisconsin. The third-place and championship games will be played at noon and 3:00 p.m. (CT), respectively, on Sunday, Oct. 10.
