    AS A JUNIOR: Notre Dame?s primary face-off man who played in all 16 games in 2001 ... handled nearly 70 percent of all team faceoffs ... was 135-2546 for a .531 winning percentage which ranked 22nd nationally ... scored a goal and collected 60 ground balls ... won 11 of 23 faceoffs against Johns Hopkins and picked up four ground balls ... won 17-22 face-off against Bucknell and collected a career-high 10 ground balls ... tallied first career goal in overtime loss at Hofstra ... the unassisted score came with 8:50 in the contest and tied the game at 9-9 ... was 10-16 (.625) against Penn State in the season opener ... lost just two face-offs against Pennsylvania and was 14-16 (.875) in the game ... won 12 of 16 (.750) face-offs in the Denver game and 8-10 versus (.800) versus Air Force ... took a career-high 26 face-offs against Army and won a personal best 16 of them for a .615 winning percentage ... was 11 of 16 (.688) in faceoffs versus Butler ... collected a career-high eight ground balls in both the Army and Butler contests ... blocked a punt vs. USC and recovered a blocked punt vs. Rutgers.

    AS A SOPHOMORE: Played in all 14 games off the bench in 2000 ... led the team with .606 face-off winning percentage as he won 80 of 132 face- offs ... also led team in penalties (11) and penalty minutes (9:00) ... also collected 43 ground balls ... was a perfect seven for seven in faceoffs against Butler ... was 10 for 11 against Harvard as he also collected a career-high seven ground balls in the contest to lead the Irish in that category ... won 10 of 14 faceoffs in 20-12 win over Villanova and was eight for 12 against Fairfield ... won eight of 10 faceoffs against Ohio State and collected a then career-high six ground balls in the game ... also had six ground balls in NCAA tournament win over Loyola ... collected five ground balls against Air Force and was seven for nine in faceoffs ... was four for eight in faceoffs against Hofstra ... had four ground balls against Butler.

    AS A FRESHMAN: One of two Irish rookies to see action in all 14 games in ?99 ... scored two goals during the ?99 campaign ... owned a .612 (30-49) face-off winning percentage as a backup to Kevin Higgins ... netted his first collegiate goal in the season opener at Penn State off a Tom Glatzel assist that gave the Irish a 3-1 advantage in the contest ... had his only other goal of the season in the second game of the ?99 campaign against Denver as one of nine different players who contributed in the 17-9 win ... his second-quarter goal off of a David Ulrich assist with 12:34 remaining gave the Irish a 7-2 lead in the contest ... collected 14 ground balls.

    PREP AND PERSONAL DATA: Earned high school All-America honors in the midfield ... selected as Waterloo High School Athlete of the Year ... three-year letterwinner in lacrosse and football ... also earned two letters in basketball ... three-time all-conference selection in lacrosse ... captained squad in his junior and senior seasons ... two-time team MVP ... played in the prestigious North-South National Lacrosse Senior All-Star Game ... led football team to three consecutive conference championships (1995-97) ... two-year captain in that sport and was selected team MVP as a senior ... three-time all-conference selection ... all-state selection ... first-team all-Greater Rochester area selection ... chosen to play in the Eddie Meath All-Star Football Game ... born March 9, 1980 ... enrolled in the College of Engineering and is participating in a dual program with the Mendoza College of Business which will earn him a bachelor?s in mechanical engineering and an MBA in the spring of 2003.
