Fifth-year player returns for his third season as top Irish goalkeeper...one of four co-captains...biggest challenge in 2001 will be trying to continue to improve and be more consistent...pushes the ball up the field extremely well which helps Irish transition game...has improved his overall game considerably during the offseason.....outstanding goalie who has the talent, capabilities and knack for making the great save as well as anyone...has worked to become more consistent in his ball and stick-handling...has shown a great deal of improvement in clearing the ball...uses height to his advantage...has the confidence of the entire coaching staff because he is such a smart player with a strong work ethic.

AS A JUNIOR:
Played all but 19 of 840 minutes in 2000...did not play entire 60 minutes in just three games ? Air Force, Villanova and Fairfield ...allowed 119 goals and made 153 saves...owned a .563 save percentage and 8.70 goals-against average...his career 318 saves rank sixth on Irish all-time list ... named Great Western Lacrosse League Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 29... became just the second Notre Dame goalie to score a goal when he launched a shot from the restraining line in the third quarter vs. Fairfield in notching his first collegiate goal in 20-12 win... had 10 or more saves in 10 games, including Notre Dame?s last six outings ...had 15 saves in Notre Dame?s NCAA tournament first-round upset of Loyola...made 11 saves in NCAA tournament quarterfinal loss to Johns Hopkins ...recorded a career-high 18 saves in allowing just four goals in season opener against Penn State...had 16 saves against Army while allowing just five goals in 10-5 win over the Cadets...posted 15 saves in 17-9 win over Villanova and finished the 2000 campaign with 10 saves in both the Fairfield and Harvard contests... registered 11 saves and a career-high 11 ground balls against Pennsylvania...had nine saves in 12-8 win over Denver... registered 13 saves and collected four ground balls against Loyola...had 10 saves against Hofstra...had 57 ground balls.

AS A SOPHOMORE:
Irish starting goalkeeper in all 14 games...had a .576 save percentage and 8.58 goals against average while making 160 saves and allowing just 118 goals...played 825 minutes, 54 seconds of a possible 842:11 ...registered 10 or more saves in nine games and in eight of the last 10 contests...registered a season-high 17 saves against top-ranked Loyola and eighth-ranked Georgetown in regular-season contests...in first career start in the season opener at Penn State, made 13 saves...beginning with Loyola, registered 10-plus saves in five straight contests...made 14 saves against Hobart and allowed just eight goals...made 13 saves in win over Butler and gave up just seven goals...made 12 saves in 10-9 overtime loss to Hofstra...had 10 saves and 13 saves in Army and Massachusetts contests, respectively...also had 13 stops in NCAA tournament first-round game against Georgetown...collected 35 ground balls during the season.

AS A FRESHMAN:
Played in three contests during the ?98 season...made five saves and allowed three goals in 41 minutes of action...had a .625 save percentage and 4.39 goals-against average...saw action in his first collegiate contest against Denver...played entire fourth quarter against Ohio State and made two saves while not allowing a goal...did not see action as a first-year player in 1997.

PREP AND PERSONAL DATA:
Played goalie at Montgomery Bell Academy for three seasons and lettered all four years...helped team to four straight conference and regional championships... helped squad capture state titles in his freshman and sophomore seasons and was runner-up in his junior and senior seasons...finished ?93 campaign with 18-0 mark...set school record for most saves in a game (30) in final of ?95 state championship...four-time all-state, all-conference and all-city honoree...named to high school All-America team as a junior...earned team MVP honors as a junior...was selected to play in the Tennessee All-Star Game all four years...named to Dean?s List in fall 2000 semester...born May 30, 1977...enrolled in the College of Arts and Letters as a government major.
