Keenan Six Goals Propels #9 Notre Dame to 12-6 Victory over Air Force
AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - The ninth-ranked Notre Dame men's lacrosse team
improved its record to 3-0 with a 12-6 victory at Air Force. Senior midfielder
Jimmy Keenan scored a career-high six goals in the contest to lead the Irish to the win.
Keenan's six goals tied the Notre Dame record for most goals in a road game.
Sophomore attack Chris Dusseau tied his career best with four goals and also dished off
two assists. Stedman Oakey added a goal, while freshman David Ulrich had a goal and
three assists.
Notre Dame led 5-1 after the first quarter and had a 6-1 advantage at halftime.
Dusseau got the Irish on the scoreboard first with 11:16 left to play in the first
quarter. Eric Carrano tied the game 44 seconds later on an unassisted goal, but
then Notre Dame scored five unanswered goals.
Carrano and Scott Siegfried scored the first two goals of the third quarter to cut the Irish
lead to 6-3, but Notre Dame responded with five straight goals in an 8:31 stretch as Keenan
tallied four times.
Alex Cade played all 60 minutes of the contest and came up with 10 saves. The Irish
outshot Air Force 36-16 in the game.
Notre Dame returns to action on Saturday, March 15 when it faces fourth-ranked Loyola in
Hempstead, N.Y. at 11:30 a.m.
