Notre Dame, Ind. ---- The Notre Dame-Bucknell men's lacrosse game in the
first round of the 2001 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship on Sun., May 13 at
noon EDT will be televised live by Landers Sports Productions from the
United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y. The broadcast will be
shown on Madison Square Garden Network, Empire Sports Network and Comcast
Sports in both the Philadelphia, Pa. and Atlanta, Ga. areas. Barry Landers
will handle the play-by-play, while Arnie Mazer will serve the color
analyst.
The Irish (12-1) are the fifth seed in this year's 12-team NCAA
tournament field. The other North Round matchup at West Point will feature
No. 8 seed Virginia and Hofstra and will be also televised live. That
contest will begin 45 minutes following the conclusion of the Notre
Dame-Bucknell game.
This will be the first-ever meeting between the Irish and Bison
(10-3). The winner of the contest will meet No. 4 seed Johns Hopkins in a
quarterfinal matchup on Sun, May 20 at the University of Maryland.
