Dusseau Named to USILA Honorable Mention All-America Team

Irish lacrosse player adds to list of top honors.

June 3, 1999

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Chris Dusseau (Columbus, Ohio), who started all 51 games at attack during his career at Notre Dame and finished second on the all-time goal-scoring list, was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Honorable Mention All-America team. Dusseau becomes the sixth different Irish player to earn All-America honors in the program's 19-year history. Since 1993, Notre Dame has had at least one player earn All-America honors.

Dusseau, a four-time Great Western Lacrosse League first-team honoree, led the Irish in goals scored four consecutive years. The two-time GWLL player-of-the-week honoree and Irish co-captain in 1999, scored a career-best 31 goals this season and finished third in the Irish scoring column with 33 points. He ranks second all-time in goals scored with 113 and eighth in career points. Dusseau tied the Notre Dame mark for goals scored in an away game when he netted a career-high six against in a 9-7 Irish victory over Massachusetts on April 24.

Dusseau led the Irish to an 8-6 record in '99 as Notre Dame made its seventh NCAA tournament appearance in eight seasons and finished 14th in the final USILA rankings.
