AS A SENIOR: Will serve as the anchor of the Irish defense in 2004 • technically sound player with good fundamental skills and quickness • has the ability to perform at the next level as a defensive player • an All-America candidate • effective with two feet and possesses the ability to dominate in the air and on the ground • one of the most physical and intense players on the field.

AS A JUNIOR: Ended up starring as a central defender once again for the Irish after plans to move forward to the midfield ended when sophomore Dale Rellas was lost with a season-ending injury • helped the Irish defense hold its opponents to one or zero goals in 20 of 23 matches • first team all-BIG EAST selection • adidas/NSCAA all-Great Lakes Region third team selection • ended the season with one goal for two total points at Syracuse • key member on Notre Dame's set pieces • named to the Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament all-tournament team, helping Notre Dame defeat Fresno State (2-1) and tie Akron (0-0).

AS A SOPHOMORE: Second Team All-BIG EAST honoree • was in the starting lineup for each of Notre Dame's 21 games during the 2002 campaign • tallied his lone goal of the season and the first of his career at the 71:25 mark in the 1-0 road win at Akron off an assist from teammate Chad Riley • named to the all-tournament team at the Diadora Challenge.

AS A FRESHMAN: One of two freshmen to see action in all 19 games • started the final 12 games of the 2001 campaign • dished off two assists • provided game-winning assist on Chad Riley's goal at the 10:28 mark of the contest in Notre Dame's 1-0 win over Georgetown in BIG EAST Championship quarterfinal contest • registered his first career assist against IUPUI in 4-0 Irish win on Notre Dame's final goal of the game scored by Devon Prescod at the 76:51 mark of the contest.

HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA: Started a school record 102 games at South Torrance as a four-year starter • led team to a 40-13-3 record • finished as the school's fifth all-time leading scorer with 42 goals and 40 assists during his prep career • three-time all-state honoree • the only four-time Bay League all-conference selection in school history • selected as California Player of the Year by the National Collegiate Soccer Coaches Association of America in 2000 • NCSAA High School All-American • three-time all-California Inter-scholastic Federation selection • participated in adidas ESP camp • led Breakway Soccer Club to the Region IV semifinals in 2000, as well as five state crowns • played in the South Bay All-Star Game where he was named MVP • member of the Under-18 national pool team • member of ODP state team since 1997 and was a member of team which captured national title in 2001 • born May 29, 1983 • son of Jack and Aline Stewart • a marketing major in the Mendoza College of Business with a minor in sociology.
