AS A SENIOR: A two-time monogram winner who is a smart, skillful player • will see quality minutes in the wide area of the midfield just as he did last season • has excellent field vision and makes sound decisions on the field • has appeared in 16 matches during his Notre Dame career.

AS A JUNIOR: Appeared in seven matches, totaling 108 minutes during the 2004 campaign • registered two shots • tallied 16 minutes of play over three games in BIG EAST play versus Georgetown, Pittsburgh and Connec-ticut • also saw action versus Boston University, Cal State Fullerton, Loyola-Chicago and Seton Hall (BIG EAST Tournament) • named to the 2004-05 BIG EAST Academic All-Star Team.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Appeared in one game during the 2003 season, coming off the bench in Notre Dame's 1-0 victory at Michigan State.

AS A FRESHMAN: Played in eight contests in 2002 • made his first college appearance coming off the bench against Creighton in the second game of the season and also played in the Seton Hall contest • was the only freshman besides Dale Rellas to see action versus the Blue Jays • also came off the bench in Notre Dame's 2-1 double overtime victory over Furman and played in the Bradley, Providence, Boston College, Michigan State and Villanova matches • named to the 2002-03 BIG EAST Academic All-Star Team.

HIGH SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA: Four-year starter at Cape Girardeau High School • finished as the school's leading scorer with 60 goals and 31 assists • tied single-season scoring record with 26 goals in his senior year, while also collecting 10 assists • a first-team all-state honoree, he was also was named the top offensive player in Southeastern Missouri in consecutive seasons • a three-time first-team all-conference selection and two-time team MVP and captain • member of the Region III Olympic Developmental Program pool • played overseas in the Holland Cup in August of 1999 • a seven-year club player most recently competed with the Metro FC Soccer club • selected to the all-star team at Notre Dame Elite Camp in summer of 2001 • valedictorian of high school class after earning a perfect 4.0 grade point average • recipient of Cape Girardeau's Scholar-Athlete Award in 2002 • National Honor Society member • born November 25, 1983 • son of Ed and Marsha Thompson • enrolled in the College of Arts and Letters as a psychology/pre-professional studies major • has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.379.
