NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame men’s soccer program has announced the dates for a pair of elite ID camp sessions to be offered during the 2017 summer schedule. Campers will have the chance to board and train while learning from one of the most renowned college soccer programs in the country in Notre Dame, winner of the 2013 NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship.

Notre Dame Soccer Elite ID camps are four-day camps open to players in grades 10-12, and are hosted on the Notre Dame campus. The first 2017 session is scheduled for June 30-July 3, with session two set to follow July 5-8. Camp fees are $711.75 in total including boarding, and the ID camp has a limited enrollment of 160 players.

“Our summer ID camps have, over the years, been a wonderful opportunity for budding prospective collegiate soccer players to both see and be seen,” Notre Dame head coach Bobby Clark said. “Our starting team that won the national championship in 2013 boasted eight players who had attended our summer camp, but every year our roster is full of former campers.”

The Notre Dame coaching staff and select players attend all sessions and will teach throughout the camp. A staff of nationally recognized college head coaches and assistant coaches from Division I, II, III, and NAIA programs highlight the list of instructors at Notre Dame Soccer Elite ID camps.

Over 15 eventual MLS SuperDraft picks from Notre Dame attended an Irish soccer summer ID camp. Included in that list are 2006 MAC Hermann Trophy winner Joseph Lapira (’08), along with fellow NSCAA All-Americans Ryan Miller (’08), Grant Van De Casteele (’14), Nick Besler (’15), Patrick Hodan (’16) and Brandon Aubrey (’17).

“Along with future Notre Dame players who have participated at our camps, a number of other former campers have become impactful players at other universities and professionally because our camps are stacked with other college coaches,” Clark said. “I can quickly bring up Cristian Roldan (Seattle Sounders and University of Washington), Wil Trapp (Akron and Columbus Crew), Christian Dean (Vancouver Whitecaps and University of California), Dylan Remick (Houston Dynamo and Brown University), Patrick Doody (Chicago Fire and Indiana University) and Ian Harkes (DC United and Wake Forest), who are all Notre Dame soccer camp alumni.

“Recruiting apart, we hope that our campers become better players over the week,” Clark added. “We see ourselves as an identification medium but, more so, we hope to provide an opportunity for the camper to go away a better player.”
