NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Notre Dame senior Chris Cahill (Louisville, Ky./DeSales) has been named the BIG EAST men's soccer goalkeeper of the week for the week ending Sept. 2. Cahill made four saves in the Irish's 2-1 overtime victory against No. 1 UCLA on Friday, Aug. 31.

This is the third such honor for Cahill, who was named the BIG EAST goalkeeper of the week once during each of the past two campaigns. The fifth-year senior was an all-BIG EAST third-team selection last season as he posted a 0.77 goals-against average and a .817 save percentage.

Cahill owns a career record of 27-13-4 along with a 0.81 goals-against average and a .815 save percentage. He went 14-5-1 last season with 11 shutouts.

The ninth-ranked Fighting Irish will carry a 1-1-0 mark into this weekend's Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament at Alumni Field. Notre Dame will face No. 22 Rhode Island on Friday, Sept. 7 at 7:30 p.m. (ET) and Northern Illinois on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 2:00 p.m.
