Notre Dame, Ind. - Sophomore defender Kevin Golthwaite (Sacramento, Calif.) has been named to the College Soccer News Team of the Week after registering a goal and an assist in Notre Dame's two wins over Virginia Tech (2-1) and Loyola (1-0).

Goldthwaite, who earns the honor for the first time in his career, scored the game-tying goal against the Hokies in the Irish's come-from-behind victory at the 80:05 mark of the contest. In the win over the Ramblers, he assisted on Greg Martin's (Plano, Texas) game-winning goal with 11:38 remaining in the contest.

He has helped the Irish to an 11-4-3 record this season while scoring a goal and dishing off seven assists (second best on the team).

Others named to this week's team were: Danny Bills (New Mexico), Matt Boswell (Akron), Jeff Curtin (Georgetown), Josh Gros (Rutgers), Jack Jewsbury (St. Louis), Derek McElligott (Maryland-Baltimore County), Kevin Novak (Loyola Marymount), Josh Saunders (California), Diego Walsh (Southern Methodist) and Jeremiah White (Wake Forest).
