NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The 2013 National Soccer Coaching Seminar will be held March 15-16 on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. Several distinguished clinicians will be on hand, including Notre Dame men's head coach Bobby Clark and Fighting Irish women's head coach Randy Waldrum.

Swanson recently completed his 13th season at Virginia, where he led the Cavaliers to the third round of the NCAA Championship for the eighth consecutive year. He arrived in Charlottesville in 2000, replacing former U.S. Women's National Team Coach April Heinrichs.
After previously coaching the U.S. Soccer U-16 and U-18 National Teams from 2000-02, Swanson returned to the U.S. coaching ranks during the past few years as an assistant coach with the U-17, U-18 and U-20 teams before taking over as the U-20 head coach in the summer of 2011.
Swanson then led the U-20 World Cup Team through a challenging qualification process and then on to win the World Cup that was held in Japan this past August and September. After losing to defending champion Germany, 3-0 during group play, the Swanson-led U.S. team gained a measure of revenge in the tournament title match, blanking the heavily-favored Germans, 1-0, to earn the Americans' third U-20 Women's World Cup championship.
Swanson currently holds an `A' license from the United States Soccer Federation. Prior to taking the reins at Virginia, Swanson served as the head coach at Stanford and Dartmouth, working alongside Clark at both schools.
