The Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams began the 2010-2011 season by hosting the 2010 Dennis Stark Relays.
AS A JUNIOR: Member of the winning 200 free relay team in the season-opening Dennis Stark Relays ... swam the anchor leg of the runner-up 400 medley relay team at the Dennis Stark Relays ... anchored the second place 200 medley relay at the Dennis Stark Relays ... member of the runner-up 200 medley relay team in the quad meet with TCU, Michigan and Oakland... first swimmer in the water for the third place 400 free relay team in four-team dual meet ... anchored the victorious 400 medley relay at Valparaiso ... third-place finisher in the 100 breast (56.41) at Louisville ... part of 200 freestyle relay and 200 medley relay teams that took third at the Hawkeye Invitational ... claimed third place in the 100 breast (56.62) against Northwestern ... runner-up to teammate Frank Dyer in the 50 free against Michigan State ... touched the wall in third place in the 200 breast against Michigan State ... anchor of the runner-up 200 free relay team at the Shamrock Invitational ... won the 100 breast with a time of 56.20 at the Shamrock Invitational ... member of the 400 free relay eam that took third at the Shamrock Invitational ... anchored the third place 200 medley relay team at the BIG EAST Championships ... swam a season-best 53.79 in the 100 breast to earn runner-up honors in the event at the BIG EAST Championships ... second swimmer in the water for the second place 400 medley relay team at the BIG EAST Championships ... personal-best time of 1:58.52 in the 200 breast at the BIG EAST Championships ... won third-career monogram.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Set a new Notre Dame record in the 100 breast with his 53.75 performance at the BIG EAST Championships ... that swim was the first ever 100 breast swim under 54 seconds in Notre Dame history ... the 100 breast showing was also good for his first individual NCAA B-cut ... swam the breaststroke legs of the 200 and 400 medley relays that set new Notre Dame records with NCAA B-cut times of 1:28.86 and 3:15.10, respectively ... also recorded two additional personal-best scores at the league meet with swims of 2:01.18 in the 200 breast and 20.76 in the 50 free.
AS A FRESHMAN: Delivered the ninth-fastest 100 breast performance in program history at the BIG EAST Championships with a time of 55.63 ... was a member of the 200 medley relay at the league meet that set a school record ... the relay performance was an NCAA B-cut time ... set a personal-best time of 2:07.72 in the 200 breast at the Shamrock Invitational ... recorded a career-best time of 20.81 at the league meet in the 50 free ... finished the dual meet season with a top three performances in all seven 100 breast races he swam ... recipient of the Beeler Hipp award ... swam in 16 breaststroke events during the course of the year.
THE JOHNSON FILE: Four-year varsity swimmer at Lake Central (Ind.) under head coach Todd Smolinski ... team MVP and state champion in his junior and senior seasons ... team captain as a senior ...
