AS A JUNIOR: Swam primarily in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyle ... placed second in the 200 freestyle against Niagara ... swam three career-best times in the 50 (21.99), 100 (47.74), and 200 freestyle (1:43.24) at the 1999 Notre Dame Invitational ... tallied 18 top-five finishes in the 1999-2000 season ... posted one second place and three third- place finishes in the 200 freestyle ... placed third in the 100 freestyle against Cleveland State. AS A SOPHOMORE: Swam mainly in the 100 backstroke and the 100 and 200 freestyle in his first season with the Irish in 1998-99 ... posted his first career win in the 100 freestyle at the Shamrock Classic with a career- and season-best time of 47.79 ... placed second in the 200 freestyle against Wisconsin-Milwaukee and at the Shamrock Classic ... recorded his season- and career-best time of 1:43.78 in the preliminaries of the 200 freestyle at the Shamrock Classic ... also had season and career-best time of 54.05 in the 100 backstroke at the Shamrock Classic ... finished third against Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 100 freestyle.
