AS A JUNIOR: Had a huge meet at the Notre Dame Invitational, capturing first in the 100 and 200 backstroke, finishing second in the 100 butterfly, and taking part in the first-place 200 medley relay ... turned in Notre Dame‚s top times for the season in both backstroke events as well as the 100 butterfly ... set new career bests in both the 100 and 200 backstroke ... won the 200 backstroke at West Virginia and Western Ontario ... netted seven top-two finishes in the backstroke events and the 100 butterfly ... suffered a bout of mononucleosis, which kept him out of competition for the second half of the 2000-01 season.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Placed ninth in the 100 backstroke at the 2000 BIG EAST Championships, swimming a career-best 50.94 ... swam on the 200 freestyle relay team that placed eighth at the BIG EAST Championships ... finished 13th in the 100 butterfly at the BIG EAST Championships ... swam a career-best 1:52.50 in the 200 backstroke at the BIG EAST Championships ... posted five second-place finishes in dual-meet action this season ... recorded 10 top-five finishes for the Irish during 1999-2000.
