AS A SOPHOMORE: Broke University record in 200 backstroke (1:48.97) in prelims of BIG EAST Championships ... went quicker in evening session (1:48.66), but lost record to teammate Doug Bauman ... finished third on team in 100 back (50.98) and fourth in 100 fly (50.37) ... scored 129.5 points, including 23 at the BIG EAST meet, where he improved at least 10 spots from seeding in every event ... qualified third en route to moving up 10 spots from seeding (14th) to fourth in 200 back, missing all-BIG EAST honors by 0.10 seconds ... moved up from 22nd to 11th in the 100 back and from 37th to 15th in the 100 fly ... finished seventh in 200 back and eighth in 100 back at Notre Dame Invitational ... won 200 back against Villanova ... anchored 400 free relay that finished first against St. Bonaventure ... swam on 400 backstroke relay that set meet record (3:29.41) at Dennis Stark Relays.
