The men and women's swimming and diving teams hosted Purdue on November 6th at the Rolfs Aquatic Center.
AS A SENIOR: Earned all-BIG EAST honors off the 3-meter spring board in his final season at Notre Dame with a score of 343.60 ... took fourth from the 1-meter distance at the league meet after tallying 331.60 points ... set a personal-best mark of 347.70 against Northwestern from the 1-meter board ... that performance was the fifth-best total in Notre Dame history off the 1-meter spring board ... season best score off the 3-meter board came against Cleveland State ... finished in18th at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships with a total of 628.45 points ... finished his Notre Dame career as the third best performer off the 1-meter board and the ninth best diver at the 3-meter height in Notre Dame history.
AS A JUNIOR:Claimed gold at both 1- and 3-meter heights at the BIG EAST Championships ... notched career highs off the 1-meter board in the final session (347.00) and off the 3-meter board in the preliminary session (378.45) of the league meet ... amassed 15 top three performances throughout the dual meet season ... led Notre Dame divers at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships with a 12th-place finish at the 1-meter height and a 13th-place finish at the 3-meter height ... BIG EAST Men's Diver of the Year.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Finished the season at the NCAA Zone Championships with a 239.50 in the 1-meter ... that came after he posted scores of 324.00 and 323.75 against Northwestern and at the BIG EAST Championships, respectively ... best 3-meter meet came against Olivet with a score of 326.70 ... also posted a 317.77 at Louisville.
AS A FRESHMAN: Top performance in the 1-meter event came against Northwestern (304.80) ... also hit a season
-best at home during the Shamrock Invitational in the 3-meter event (343.88) ... finished sixth in the 3-meter (302.40) and eighth in the 1-meter (280.60) at the BIG EAST Championships ... posted a count of 294.67 in the 1-meter against Louisville while registering 324.15 off the 3-meter board.
THE VILLAFLOR FILE: Seized the Illinois state diving title in each of his final prep seasons at Glenbrook South (Ill.), winning his latest by nearly 30 points ... earned All-America and all-state honors in each of his four prep seasons ... named team captain and team MVP his senior year by coach Laura Duffy ... lifetime best performance was an 11-dive score of 483.7 off the 1-meter board during the 2006-07 Illinois state final ... member of the National Honor Society ... son of Sally and Tomas Villaflor ... born August 12, 1988, in Evanston, Ill. ... graduated from the Mendoza College of Business as a marketing major.
